Career Research: Majors & Assessments
So much focus on future planning is about selecting the right major. This way of thinking is outdated. The modern workforce is built upon acquiring the right skills and experiences. Research has found eight areas of skills to focus upon to truly be Career Ready, regardless of what you study: career & self development, communication, critical thinking, equity & inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, technology.
Assessing and communicating the skills you have gained in your major and experiences is vital in any job search. This section of the website is to help students look at their own talents, explore majors and research career trends to help them in their search.
