Iowa State Teachers College
UNI is proud of our rich teacher education program. Since 1876, UNI has been the school for teacher training in Iowa, with our school previously named Iowa State Teacher College. As an extension, schools from around the world come to Cedar Falls every year to recruit our top graduates!
UNI is home to two large recruiting events:
- UNI Teacher Fair
This fair occurs in the Spring semester each year and traditionally hosts nearly 100 schools from across the state, region, and nation. Whether you are a new or soon-to-be graduate looking for that first teaching position or a pre-student teaching student building your network, the UNI Teacher Fair is for you. All teaching students are encouraged to attend!
- UNI Overseas Teacher Services
Offering services since 1976, the University of Northern Iowa Overseas Teaching Services (OTS), connects American international K-12 schools with educators. UNI Overseas Teaching Services is excited to host a robust database and the world's oldest in-person international recruitment fair!
UNI Teacher Fair
UNI invites students, school administrators, and education professionals to participate in the annual UNI Teacher Fair! This event provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring educators to connect with school districts, explore potential job opportunities, and learn about teaching positions. School administrators will meet qualified teacher candidates.
