The role of Peer Advisor focuses on building relationships with undergraduate Teacher Education students and providing assistance to these students. The Educational Foundations and Professional Experiences office (EFPE) and the College of Education Advising and Teacher Success office (CATS) are resources meant to prepare students to make informed decisions about their academic career, college experience, and future teaching career. We assist students in exploring the available majors and minors, navigating the registration system, understanding general education and major requirements, and connecting them to campus resources. In this role, you will work closely with faculty, staff, and students and gain a deeper understanding of the Teacher Education program. This role is social! You will be working with students on a daily basis, answering phone calls, and assisting with emails. This is a great learning opportunity before you head out to manage your own classroom! We are flexible and understand that school comes first, but please understand that this role is vital to the success of our Teacher Education students. We are searching for students who represent a variety of teaching majors, backgrounds and experiences.Applicants must be a fully declared teaching major AND work study eligible. The Panther Scholarship Club (PSC) serves as the fundraising arm of UNI Athletics. At various home athletic events throughout the year, the PSC hosts donors at an outdoor tailgate and in the hospitality room prior to and during games. For student workers working the tailgate and club spaces, tasks may include set-up and teardown, greeting donors and guests, serving food, serving alcohol (certification required), and more. For football home games, the PSC will also host a space on the North concourse during the game. While working this space, student workers will scan tickets, wristband donors and guests, serve food and more. Starting in the 2025-26 season, the PSC will also have Suite Attendants. These student workers will assist with taking care of guests and fans in our suites for football and basketball games. This could include refilling food stations, drink stations, set-up and tear-down, inventory tracking and more. Student workers will have the opportunity to rotate between the Club Room and Suite positions throughout the year, creating a well rounded experience. There will also be opportunities to work special events the PSC hosts. As a PSC Student Worker, you will be responsible for providing customer service and a positive hospitality experience for PSC Donors and Board Members and fans alike. An ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to problem solve, take initiative and provide great customer service.
