Gallery of Art Director’s Assistant: The Gallery of Art Director’s Assistant position is designed for persons with an interest in visual, performing and cultural Arts. Priority will be given to students actively in the UNI Museum Studies certificate program and will be responsible for the following, but not limited to, tasks: perform a wide range of duties related to exhibitions and events; assist with unpacking artwork and preparing pieces for display; lighting the gallery; pack and ship pieces previously on display; assist in the installation and deinstallation of artworks with Gallery Director; patch and paint walls, pedestals, and display cabinets; design and install vinyl; type, edit, print, mount, and cut title cards; assist in organizing catering for events; organize tools and storage areas, give tours and speak to visitors about an artist or specific pieces on display, or answer questions about pieces or upcoming exhibitions or events. Gallery of Art Social Media Specialist: is responsible for the following: maintaining an active social media presence for the UNI Gallery of Art and Permanent Collection. This position will work with the Gallery Director on developing and executing social media strategies, creating (writing, video, and photo) and sharing engaging content, optimizing UNI Gallery of Art pages, moderating user-generated content, analyzing social data, and working in harmony with the rest of the Gallery staff. Gallery Social Media Specialist may also work as a Gallery Guard to cover weekly hours while creating content.The ideal applicant for this position has suitable skills, including:• Social media: The ability to use social media to maintain and build the UNI Gallery of Art following. The Desk Assistant is a UNI University Housing & Dining staff member who is a vital part of successful operations in the residence halls. The hall office serves as an information hub for students, staff and guests. As a staff member, the Desk Assistant provides assistance to residents regarding personal, interpersonal and academic concerns, and is instrumental in assisting the residence hall in becoming a cohesive and inclusive living and learning community.The Desk Assistant is supervised by a Secretary or Coordinator but works in conjunction with the other staff including Desk Assistants, Graduate Assistants, Resident Assistants, and Administrative Assistants.
